about eileen
As a UX researcher with over 15 years of multidisciplinary design experience, I'm passionate about uncovering profound human insights to craft seamless, intuitive digital and physical experiences.
My superpower lies in creating environments where people feel comfortable opening up through empathetic, attentive listening. With inherent curiosity and a "yes and" spirit, I'm able to unearth those golden insights that reveal how to align technology with innately human behaviors, emotions and needs.
Why is this so important to me? Well, I truly believe the things that spark the most joy are the ones that feel organic to how we humans actually think, feel and behave.
My philosophy is that good design distills out the noise and clutter, leaving only what's essential. And as a UX researcher, my mission is to make technology so seamless and joyful that it fades into the background as we live our best lives.
Now, my path to UX has been... let's call it a creatively circuitous route. I started off in an unexpected place - pre-med, followed by two years in medical school, of all things! After that detour, I spent a decade designing fashion collections for various companies and markets. I even did a stint teaching and mentoring the next generation of fashion designers.
It was integrating all those diverse perspectives that made me realize the power of understanding human experiences and motivations.
So I diligently trained up in research techniques like contextual inquiry, usability testing, heuristic evaluation, and survey design to add to my toolkit.
At this point, you might be wondering what potentially crazy twist comes next? These days, in addition to my UX research practice, I keep my creative spark alive by handcrafting elegant fine jewelry. I'm also an avid explorer of the gorgeous natural landscapes here in my homeland Greece and spend time caring for my adopted family of rescue kittens.
What defines me is my blend of rigorous research skills and creative intuition. I'm an eternal student, always seeking out new areas for growth. While I have extensive professional experience, I also know there's always more to learn about crafting impactful user experiences.
